2019.3 Release Notes for Integration.

Use Adaptive Insights as a Data Source For Multi-Instance Environments

Watch the video: 2m 38s

Adaptive Insights as a Data Source - What's New 2019.3

Connect to an instance of Adaptive Insights and bring in data from one or more sheets across one or more versions. Create and select an Adaptive Insights credential for the instance you need to connect to, pick your time periods and select the accounts or modeled sheets you want to import from. Tag accounts with one or more dimensions.

This data source:

  • Makes moving data and metadata in multi-instance environments easier
  • Replaces the need for an on-premise data agent to export from Adaptive Insights

See Set Up Adaptive Insights as a Data Source.

Export from Adaptive Insights to Cloud Systems

Custom Cloud Loader - What's New 2019.3

You can export from Adaptive Insights to external systems using the new Custom Cloud Loader. Provide parameters, select an OAuth configuration for your credentials, and write JavaScript. Just like the other loaders, you can run the Custom Cloud Loader manually or schedule it as part of an Integration task. See Create a Custom Cloud Loader.

View Dashboard and Integration Notifications

View a log of every notification that Integration and Dashboards send you by navigating to Integration Management > Notification Logs. This log works like an email client, showing you a list of your notifications, sorted chronologically. Select one or more notifications to view their content in additional tabs on the same page. Notifications can't be edited or deleted by anyone, including you. See View Integration Notifications Logs.

Adaptive Data Agent Enhancements

The Adaptive Data Agent has an improved user interface and is certified with:

  • Pentaho Version 8.2
  • Windows Server 2016

The agent now also supports Open JDK. See Using Adaptive Data Agents.

Access AWS S3 Bucket File Contents in Custom Scripts

You can now get, put, and list the contents of an Amazon AWS S3 bucket in Custom Cloud Data Source and Custom Cloud Loader scripts. See Adaptive AWS S3.

Split Text Strings at a Delimiter Character

For Custom SQL Columns, you can use SPLIT_PART() in an SQL Expression to split a string at a single character. SPLIT_PART() is very useful for splitting a single column into two at the character of your choice. See SQL Expression Reference.

Set Custom Property Values in updateDimensions API Requests

List up to five existing custom properties for a dimension. Within a dimension value you can optionally include a numeric value for each property. As an example, if your dimension has latitude and longitude as custom properties, you can indicate the coordinates in a dimension value. If you make an exportDimensions request, the response includes custom properties. See updateDimensions.

Export Security Audit Event Logs API

The new exportSecurityAudit API lets you request security event audit logs and filter them by a time range. The audit log records security events based on NIST 800-53, retaining only the last 30 days of activity. It records:

  • Account creations
  • Account disables
  • Account lockouts
  • Unsuccessful logins
  • User logouts
  • User password changes
  • Session terminations due to exceptions
  • Session expirations
  • Credential changes
  • Authentication configuration changes

See exportSecurityAudit for more.

rootActuals No Longer Supported in exportVersions

Affects all versions of the Adaptive Insights APIs. Check your scripts for use of rootActuals in your exportVersions requests and revise them accordingly. See Retired Functionality.

API Version 22

Several other minor changes come with the latest API version, v22, in support of access rules. See API Changes by Release.
