How To Filter The Initial View To A Lower Level In Discovery

This article includes suggestions and workarounds. Content may not be accurate for all use cases or represent best practices for the latest release.

I am looking to begin the drill through function of a data point a level below the top. In the example below, we are starting the drill though at the Top Level, Organization. What we would like is to be able to have the first level of the drill through be a level below at the Sales level as the figures are only relevant to the Sales levels. The goal is to eliminate the first step of the drill though for their users so that when they click on a data point and drill into it they automatically start a few levels down (fewer steps for users).

There are a couple of ways you could do this depending on your requirements as described below:

1.) Filter the Dial by a specific level in the Data Settings Editor. This is a good option if this is the only Dial on the Perspective that should be filtered by the Sales level.

2.) Set the Context Settings for the Perspective to a specific level. This is a good option if every Dial located on the Perspective should be filtered by the Sales level.
