OfficeConnect Right-Click Actions

Describes the right-click options in OfficeConnect lists, such as elements, filters, and find and replace.

Right-click Cells, Rows, and Columns

These options are available when you right-click on a cell, row, or column with Adaptive Insights data.

  • OfficeConnect > Explore Cell: Opens Cell Explorer in your browser to show you information about the data.
  • OfficeConnect > Clear Design Element: Removes the element and content from the selected row or column.
  • OfficeConnect > Cut, Copy and Paste Elements: Moves elements in selected cells, rows or columns to other cells, rows, or columns in the worksheet.

Right-click Elements in the Element and Review Tab

These options are available when you right-click on elements in the Element and Review tab of the Reporting pane.

Find or Replace

Opens the Find and Replace window. See Find and Replace Elements.

  • Find tab: Enter keywords to search for elements that you have added to the report. 
  • Replace tab: Search for elements that you have added to the report and replace them.

When you use the Search box at the top of the elements list, you're searching the list of elements available, not the elements you added to the report.

Delete

Removes the elements  and the content from the selected row or column. You must select an entire row or column to see this option. See Change and Move Elements on a Report .

Switch to Absolute/Relative

Switches the time element to make it fixed (absolute) or relative to the current date (relative). You must select an entire row or column with a Time element to see this option. See Set Report Dates.

Right-click Elements in the Elements Tab

This option is only available when you right-click on elements in the Element tab.

Apply to Selection

Applies highlighted elements to the selected cells, rows, or columns.

Right-click Elements in Lists

When you view lists in OfficeConnect, you always have the option to use the search at the top of the list to find elements in the list. The right-click actions let you select or clear multiple items at once based on the hierarchy. Most of these options are available when you right-click elements in:

  • Elements tab
  • Find and Replace lists
  • Repeating Reports lists
  • Workbook Filters lists
  • Worksheet Filters lists

Expand All

Expands all the items within an item. You can see everything that rolls up to the item you expanded. In the example, you expand all the Custom accounts to see all the custom accounts and their child accounts too.

Collapse All

Collapses all the items of an item. You see only the top-level item and its siblings (if any). In the example,  you collapse Personnel Planning to hide it's children.  Now you can see its sibling accounts: Capital Planning, Prepaids, and Marketing.

Select or Clear Immediate Children

Selects or clears all the immediate items below a highlighted item. In the example, you choose select the immediate children of GL Accounts. Notice that the sub-accounts of Assets are not selected.

Select or Clear All Descendants

Selects or clears every item that rolls up to the item, even those several levels down. In the example, you select all the descendants of GL Accounts and the sub-accounts of Assets and their children are selected.

Right-click any item in the list, at any level, and choose Select or Clear and the entire list updates.
