Attributes Interface Tour

Introduces you to the attribute interface in modeling.

The Attribute Administration screen is laid out with a list of attributes and attribute values on the left and a details pane on the right. You can select between level attributes, account attributes, or dimension attributes in the drop-down menu on the left side of the toolbar. 

To edit an existing attribute or attribute value, select it in the list, update the information in the Details pane. To create a new attribute or attribute value, select the New Attribute or New Attribute Value icons, fill in the Details pane with the appropriate information.

Exports attribute data into an Excel spreadsheet

Open import structure dialog to download structure template and/or upload completed template

Search

To search, click the Search tab or in the Search bar, enter part or all of the item(s) you are looking for, and click the search icon. The Search tab is brought into focus, with a list of attribute and attribute values matching your search, displayed along with their location in the attribute hierarchy.

The search results are paginated, and you can navigate through the pages using the arrows at the bottom of the Search tab:

  •  First

  •  Previous

  • Page number field

  •  Next

  •  Last

  •  Refresh

You can also enter a number in the page number field and press enter to be taken directly to that page.

Moving Attribute Values

To change the location of an attribute value within the same page of the Attributes list, you can use the Move Up and Move Down icons. To move an attribute value long distances or across pages:

  1. Select the value you want to move.

  2. Press Ctrl+X or right-click and select Cut.

  3. Select an item with the same parent you want the items to have.

  4. Press Ctrl+V or right-click and select Paste.
