Attributes Interface Tour

Introduces you to the attribute interface in modeling, including the toolbar and the settings.

1 Toolbar: Take actions with the buttons and drop-downs.

2 Attribute list: Expand the list of attributes to view the values. The blue dots mean that the value is in use. 

3 Attribute settings: Update settings and attribute names. 

How You Get There

Navigation Icon5.png From the nav menu, go to Modeling. Select Level AttributesDimension Attributes or Account Attributes. Use the first drop-down in the toolbar to get to the different kinds of attributes. 

Toolbar 

Button: Description:
First drop-down Jump to different types of attributes. 
Second drop-down Filter the attribute list to view one at a time.
createDimension.png Create attributes.
addDimensionValues.png Create attribute values.
printView.png Downloads attributes to an Excel spreadsheet.
importAccountStructureIcon.png Import edits or new attributes and attribute values.

Attribute Settings

Field: Description:
Name Must be unique and not match any existing dimension names. 
Dimension import automatically creates values

(Dimension attributes only) Adds attribute values when you import a new dimension structure using:

Account import automatically creates values (Account attributes only) Adds attribute values when you import a new account structure using:
Level import automatically creates values (Level attributes only) Adds attribute values when you import a new level structure using:
Keep sorted Sorts the attribute value list in alphabetical order. Uncheck it if you want to control the order.

Attribute Value Settings

Field: Description:
Parent

Creates hierarchical attributes. The value rolls up to the value selected from the drop-down. 

View Dependencies Opens a dialog so you can view where the model uses the attribute value.
