Why is my Great Plains Connector Importing YTD Values Instead of the Values in the Current Month?

This article includes suggestions and workarounds. Content may not be accurate for all use cases or represent best practices for the latest release.

Question

When I load my actual data via the GP Connector, Adaptive Planning is pulling in YTD data versus the current month data. It’s only happening with specific accounts. I’ve checked the import mapping, setups, etc and did not see anything unusual.  I’m not receiving any error messages as a result of the import.  Any ideas where to look or what might be causing the issue?

Answer

The Connector determines whether an account is an income statement account or a balance sheet account by either looking at the account definition in Great Plains or by reading a file called C:\Adaptive_Planning\greatPlainsAccountTypes.txt.

Check to see if the accounts are identified as Income Statement accounts in Great Plains. If they are, then look at C:\Adaptive_Planning\greatPlainsAccountTypes.txt on your machine to see if the accounts are misidentified as a Balance Sheet account (a "B" in the second column).

If the accounts are marked as Balance Sheet accounts in either location, correct the setting and try re-importing.
