Quickbooks Connector Best Practice

Question

What do I do if I receive an error in the Connector Processing window?

Answer

If you see an error when in the Connector Processing window, extract the log file. It is typically located here:

C:\adaptive_planning\log\adaptiveplanning_logs.log

 

If the log file says something like:

At line 14 of module Create QuickBooks Connection: Property or method failed (QBXMLRP2.RequestProcessor.2: A QuickBooks company data file is already open and it is different from the one requested or there are multiple company files open.)

Ensure you have taken the steps below:

Always open QB company files in Multi-User Mode (even if only 1 user license exists)

Hosted Multi-User Access needs to be active

Disable the preference “Keep Quickbooks running for quick startups”

If possible associate a QB user with Admin rights to the Integrated Application “Adaptive Connector”

If all of the above is set and connection can still not be made (e.g. too many users logged in), open Quickbooks without a company file open. This will force our connector to always be able to connect.
