Status List

Explains how to create a status list dial using Discovery Classic

Status list dials, such as the one shown below, give you a single snapshot of up to ten dif­ferent levels or accounts, letting you track how they’re doing right now. Zone alerts high­light any numbers that are doing well or in need of attention.

Example of a Status List

To create a status alert:

  1. Click Edit In Place   (or open the Visual Designer if you prefer).

  2. Expand the Component Library (edit in place only) by clicking Expand  .

  3. Click Dials    in the Component Library.

  4. Expand the Personal Dials folder.

  5. Drag Create New Dial onto your dashboard.
    The Create New Dial dialog appears.

  6. Click the Status List template and enter Status as the dial’s name.

  7. Click Create.

  8. Expand the folder where you saved the dial and click its name and drag it to the location where you want it to appear (if you are using the Visual Designer, you can just click to open it in the editing area).

  9. Click Data Settings in the Editors menu.

  10. You’ll need to set up each row on the status list individually by repeating these steps:

  1. Click the Series # entry in the Select series list.

  2. Check the Enabled check box.

  3. Select an account in the  Account drop-down menu.

  4. Click Apply. 

  5. When you’ve added all the accounts you want to track in the status list, click Close.

  6. Click Account Zones in the Editors menu.

  7. Repeat the following steps for each account:

  1. Select an account in the drop-down menu at the top of the editor.

  2. Click Create Zones.

  3. Set whether trending up is an improvement or trending down is an improvement with the blue and silver arrow buttons.  Click the arrow direction for improvement. For example, for Revenue, trending up is an improvement. For Liabilities, trending down is an improvement.

  4. Set your preferred thresholds for the Bad, Warning, Good, and Excellent zones. You can also disable any zone you don’t want to use by clearing the check box beneath its symbol. For more on the Account Zone editor, see Account Zones.

  5. Click Apply.

  6. Click Close.

Your dial appears on the dashboard.
