Basic Building Blocks
Watch this video 2m 8s: Dashboard Layout
Perspectives, dashboards, and charts are the building blocks for self-service analytics and a rich data analysis experience. For example, an Executive Summary perspective can have Dashboards for Revenue, Financial Health, and Operations. Each dashboard includes charts that provide insight to that area of the business.
A perspective is a group of dashboards and charts, usually focused on a common function such as finance or sales.
A dashboard is a container for grouping a series of charts or other data analysis often by a theme or subject.
A chart visualizes your data. Review Chart Types to choose a chart that works best for the information you want to visualize.
The Perspectives Overview is the first page you come to when accessing Discovery. The Perspective Overview displays available perspectives in grid view or list view (shown in the inset). This is your starting point to view dashboards and present data, or manage perspectives, such as share and collaborate.
