What do each of the user permissions control?
Please see the permissions for each category below.
Only permissions that are applicable to the products that have been purchased will display in the model.
Access Sheets – Gives users access to view sheets in the Sheets tab.
Editable Sheet Access – Allows users to edit data on sheets in the Sheets tab.
Edit Dimension on Sheet – Allows users to edit/add/remove Dimensions on sheets. The Dimension will also need to have the Edit Dimension on Sheet box checked in the sheet builder. This permission does not require a user to be an Administrator.
Consolidation Permission (Only Available with Consolidation Module)
Access Consolidation – Gives users access to the Process Tracker and Eliminations Matching Viewer areas within the Consolidation tab.
Access Reports – Gives users access to view shared reports on the Reports tab and create their own personal reports.
Create Shared Reports – Allows users to create reports in the Shared Reports folder.
Modify All Reports – Allows users to modify/delete any shared report, including reports that have been created by other users.
Manage Shared Report Folders – Allows users to create/edit shared report folders.
Email Reports – Allows users to email links to shared reports to other users.
Upload Files – Enables users to utilize the Upload File Report.
Discovery Permissions (Only Available with the Discovery Module)
Access Discovery – Gives users to access to view the Discovery tab.
Edit Personal Discovery Dashboards – Enables users to create personal dashboards within Discovery.
Edit Company Discovery Dashboards – Enables users to create company dashboards within Discovery.
Use Analysis Tools – Allows users to utilize the Analysis Tools in Discovery
Access Salary Detail – Gives users access to view Modeled Sheets that have been marked as requiring the Salary Detail permission. This permission also allows users to drill into accounts that contain salary details from sheets and reports.
Import Capabilities – Enables users to utilize the import function in the Integration area. The user will be able to import data to all Levels, including Levels to which the user does not have access.
Erase Actuals – Enables users to erase data in multiple accounts and periods at once in the Actuals Version within the Integration area.
Export Capabilities – Enables users to utilize the Export function in the Integration area. A user can only export data on Levels he or she has access to.
Actuals and Transactions Permissions
Privileged Actuals Access – Allows users to edit data in the Actuals Version. Giving the Users group “Full Access” in the Actuals Version Details will give users access to edit Actuals even if this permission is not checked.
Access Transactions – Allows users to drill into Transactions from sheets or reports.
Drill Into NetSuite Imported Numbers – Enables users to drill into values in NetSuite from the Financial Planning tab.
Export Budgets To NetSuite – Enables users to export data directly from Adaptive Insights to NetSuite.
See Who is Online – Allows users to see other users that are active in Adaptive Insights.
Approve Levels – Gives users the ability to approve Levels that have been submitted to Workflow. The user must also have access to the parent Level in order to approve a Level in Workflow.
Process Tracker Permissions
Access Process Tracker - Provides read-only access to processes and tasks. This does not enable users to edit or complete tasks.
Complete Self-Assigned Tasks Only - Provides only the ability to view any process and task, and mark tasks assigned to the user as complete or incomplete.
Complete Tasks Assigned to Others - Provides only the ability to view any process and task, and mark tasks assigned to any user as complete or incomplete.
Manage Tasks - Provides the ability to create and manage tasks. User can create, edit, assign, and mark tasks as complete or incomplete.
Manage Processes - Provides complete access to all processes and tasks, including task edit and completion.
Admin Access – Allows users to access the Admin area.
Model (includes: sheets, accounts, dimensions, formulas and currencies) – Gives users access to create/edit/delete sheets, accounts, dimensions, shared formulas and currencies.
Organization Structure - Enables users to create/edit/delete Levels and Level Details. This permission can apply to All Levels or Accessible Levels Only
Versions – Gives users access to create/edit/delete Versions and Version Details.
Users – Gives users the ability to create/edit/delete users and the user details excluding the Level access and Role. When used in combination with the Roles permission, a user can edit another user’s level access and role within the Edit User screen.
Roles – Allows users to edit the permissions included in a role. When used in combination with the Users permission, a user can edit another user’s level access and role within the Edit User screen.
Dashboards – Enables users to create shared Dashboards.
Manage Global User Groups – Gives users access to create Global User Groups. The groups can be used in the Version Access Controls, when emailing reports, and when sharing perspectives in Discovery.
General Setup – Allows users to access and edit fields in the General Setup area.
Assumptions – Enables users to create/edit/delete Assumptions.
Structure Import – Enables users to import structures such as account structures and dimension structures. Without this permission, Administrators will not have access to import changes to the structures.
Allocation Rules – Gives users access to create/edit/delete allocation rules.
Transactions – Allows users to access the Define Transactions area.
NetSuite Setup – Enables users to establish a connection to a NetSuite instance.
Consolidation - Enables users to edit Consolidation Percents and create/edit/delete Elimination Rules.
Reclassification Rules - Gives users access to create/edit/delete reclassification rules.
